DIRTY BIRD

DESCRIPTION

Derived from our Black Series boards, we created the Dirty Bird to have the speed and wave catching ability needed for high performance surfing in most average conditions. Working with our team riders, the Dirty Bird’s refined outline is designed for better paddling and glide in waves that lack power. It has added width and thickness with a straightened rail line in rear of the board for more speed and drive. We gave it a swallow tail that has a slight amount of flip to harnesses that speed while also helping the Dirty Bird turn off its moderate rockers and pivot vertically with ease. The bottom contours consist of a deep single to double concave for lift and predictability when turning in the pocket. Made to excel in the knee to overhead waves, the Dirty Bird fits into our Betweeners for advanced surfers and is a great All Arounder for anyone that wants a forgiving board with hidden performance.

Moderate rocker with slight flip in nose and tail.

Medium Full with tucked hard edges in tail area to handle high speed turns.

BOTTOM

Deep single to slight double with vee out the tail.

FINS

Standard as a 5 fin, can be ridden as a thruster or quad.

Knee high to a foot or two over head.

HOW TO SIZE THIS BOARD

Comparing to a pro model shortboard go 1-4" shorter, 5/8" wider and same to 1/16” more in thickness to add slightly more volume needed for smaller waves. For a high performance approach and based on your height, aim for about the same length to as much as 3” shorter as you are tall, matching volume to skill level, needs, or preferences. Up in volume and at your height or beyond for additional stability with more wave size range and wave catching ease. Custom dims are always available to match your needs or preferences.
