DESCRIPTION

As surfers began to search for the barrel in the late 60s and 70s, longboards were being traded for shorter and narrower single fin boards. Flatter rockers made these smaller boards still great paddlers while their narrower outlines gave them more maneuverability in the pocket and out on the shoulder than their longboard predecessors. With these new boards taking over, the style of surfing moved away from walking to the nose to stylishly trimming down the line and looking for more progressive ways to use speed.

Our Classic Single + 2 brings back that flowing feeling of the 70s as a single fin with the ability to use two side fins depending on conditions or preference. By using two small side bite fins with your single, you’ll feel more hold and gain more drive. With a smaller single fin and normal thruster sides, you’ll get increased performance with a more controlled feel similar to modern boards. For a totally different trip, you might go with a set of twin fins like our upright keels for plenty of drive with a free flowing feel in turns.

For below average days to epic conditions, the Classic Single + 2 gives you a great paddling board with plenty of speed for the kind of fun that has drawn people to surfing since the start of the performance era. Its fuller outline helps give it glide when the waves are weak while its ample volume allows you easy and early entry when you need it. As an fun alternative to a rockered out step up or too big longboard when the waves are better it can be an asset in anyone’s quiver from beginner to expert.

HOW TO SIZE THIS BOARD

Ideally ridden at least 4 inches above your height for an easy paddling mid length board. Looking for an even easier paddling mid length feel, size it bigger than the chart might suggest for your weight to a comfortable length and volume.
